A conflict of interests – Dugongs versus Fossil Fuels

On 2 December, our team held their inaugural COP28 press conference, featuring a special guest appearance by Her Excellency, the Dugong Special Envoy.
Swimming all the way from Marawah Reserve to Dubai, the Dugong Envoy is determined to join forces with us to draw attention to the looming threat of the major Gasha oil project. This project not only jeopardises the second-largest Dugong population globally but also poses a danger to all species within the Marawah Reserve.
Once completed, it promises to release 49.6 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually into our already suffocated atmosphere.
