Legal Action for the Climate

The Oslo Principles argue that governments are already legally obliged under different forms of law to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Some organizations and intiatives working on turning this into reality are:

  • The international campaign to End Ecocide
  • Miriam of Sustainable Quality Premium who uses the International Criminal Court
  • The Climate Compensation Act that can be passed in any country suffering climate-related impacts to hold polluters accountable (by West Coast Environmental Law and Vanuatu Environmental Law Association)
